課程概述

This course will cover the developments and applications of engineering principles and molecular cell biology to biomedical phenomena over the range from molecular to cellular to tissue and organ level. This is intended for beginning and intermediate graduate students to build up fundamental understandings of the mechanics in cells and tissues. Student are expected to utilize these understandings to rationally maintain, alter, or improve cell and tissue functions and properties, as well as to design artificial tissues and organoids.

• To provide the students with an overview of fundamental concepts in tissue/cell engineering and regenerative medicine.
• To provide the students with opportunities to explore the applications of engineering principles in medical fields.
